Campagnolo’s Big Corkscrew has been a staple product in the Italian manufacturer’s range, ever since Tulio Campagnolo designed it back in 1966. According to Campagnolo, Tulio’s design was inspired by a “lesser” corkscrew that left pieces of cork in one of the aged wines from his collection.
The Big Corkscrew is extra large and flashy, and every part of it represents one of Campagnolo’s qualities. Take the screws for instance, taken from a Super Record crankset from the 1970s, a component that graced the bicycles of many racing legends, like Merckx, Indurain and Gimondi.

The corkscrew is still manufactured from start to finish in the Campagnolo factory in Vicenza, Italy, and the design has remained unchanged except for one small update. In 2013, the corkscrew was upgraded with a chrome finish for an attractive high-grade look that is even more durable than the original. Thanks to its sturdy, all-steel construction, the Big Corkscrew will always retain its unique character and help you festively pop corks for years to come – without leaving bits of cork in your wine, thanks to the special self-positioning bell and the design that ensures that the corkscrew can never pierce the cork completely. As soon as the corkscrew is in place, you can gently but easily pull the cork from the bottle using two levers. This prevents the bottle from being shaken, which would disturb the sediment typical of aged wines.
