Many roof rack carriers are currently equipped with so to speak "T-Tracks".
These are slot that stretch all the way on the upper side of the roof rack, from the far left to the far right.
Mostly, the T-Track is covered with a rubber strip.
When you remove it, you can place T-Track adapters.
T-Track adapters have the advantage that the attachment of the roof rack is "blind".
So this prevents theft.
Also, the wind noise will be reduced to zero with T-Track adapters.

With the Thule 696400 you can replace a roof rack attachment with a FastGrip or PowerGrip,
by a silent, safe and invisible roof rack mount.
The old mount is not necessary anymore then.
Suitable for roof rack types:
Thule Pacific, Excellence (not XT), Spirit, Atlantis and Ocean (with Easy-Grip).
