The metal-free ceramic dual compound offers excellent resistance to heat, providing workshops with a quieter replacement option for pads that have become worn, glazed, or contaminated. When ordering, do not rely on the supplier’s “first generation” terminology, as various Shimano brake generations utilize different pad shapes; instead, compare the model number printed on the caliper with the compatibility list. During replacement, be sure to inspect the rotor for contamination, scoring, and minimum thickness, retract the pistons evenly, install the pads with appropriate retaining hardware, and progressively bed in each new set.
