The semi-metallic carbon compound is engineered to deliver controlled modulation and reliable friction during intense cross-country, trail, road, and cyclocross riding. Please note that the supplier’s “first generation” description should not be the only reference for fitment, as Shimano group names encompass various incompatible caliper and pad designs; always compare the model number printed on the brake caliper before placing your order. When replacing the pads, be sure to inspect the rotor for contamination, scoring, and minimum thickness, retract the pistons evenly, and secure the slide-in pads with the appropriate existing retention hardware before centering the caliper and progressively bedding in each set.
