Replace the pads when the friction material is worn, glazed, or contaminated, and inspect the rotor for damage, contamination, and minimum thickness during the same service. Before installing each set, clean the caliper, retract the pistons evenly, and ensure that the retaining bolt or clip is in good condition. Then, align the caliper and progressively bed in the new pads.
