Replacing a seatpost is the same for any bicycle around 99% of the time.
The following guide is applicable to nearly any bicycle with an adjustable seatpost.
Seatposts are available in various diameters and even in different shapes, though their functioning remains the same.
The vertical tube of the bicycle frame is called the seat tube.
On the end of the seat tube, there is a clamp holding a slightly narrower tube: the seatpost.
A seatpost clamp can either be a separate part or an integrated part of the seat tube in the frame.
An built-in seatpost clamp may be fastened with a seatpost bolt with a nut, or an allen bolt, or a quick release.
A separate seatpost clamp may be fastened with an allen bolt or a quick release.
Step 1 : Removing the seatpost

Partially undo the seatpost clamp to remove any tension. (1)
The seatpost can get quite stuck, so sometimes a little force is necessary to get it to budge.
Maneuver the seatpost by moving the saddle side to side, simultaneously pulling the seatpost up and out of the frame. (2)
Leave the saddle on the seatpost while removing it. This can make removing the seatpost a little easier if it is really stuck. Make sure that the saddle is firmly mounted on the seatpost. When a seatpost is stuck, try using a little penetrating oil or WD-40. Inject the oil or WD-40 between the seat tube and seatpost and let it sit for some time.

Manually wipe the edges and inside of the seat tube with a polishing cloth, cleaning the seat tube as thoroughly as possible. (1)
Grease up the inside of the seat tube and the new seatpost with some bearing grease. (2, 3)
This will make it easier to remove the seatpost again in the future.
Step 3 : Mounting the seatpost

Put the new seatpost in the seat tube at the desired height and tighten the seatpost clamp so the seatpost cannot sink further into the frame. (1, 2)
Wipe any excess grease off the seatpost with a polishing cloth.
Keep the maximum adjustable height of the seatpost in mind.
This is always marked on the seatpost. (3)
On certain seatpost clamps, like carbon clamps, you’ll find the torque specifications (often in Newton meters - Nm) for seatpost bolt tightening. A torque wrench is essential for tightening the seatpost bolt.
