A bicycle kickstand is chosen based on the bicycle’s wheel size. A 26” bicycle kickstand would of course be suitable for a bicycle with 26” wheels.
One kickstand may be suitable for more than one wheel size, like sizes 26 to 28”.
In that case, you can adjust the kickstand as needed.
Some kickstands can be adjusted by hand while others require tools, and some kickstands can be adjusted only once because they must be cut to the right length.

Most adjustable kickstands can be adjusted with an allen bolt or hex bolt. (1)
The adjuster screw is usually located on the back of the kickstand. (2)
Keep the minimum and maximum length of the kickstand in mind and never exceed either. A kickstand that is too short or too long makes the kickstand unstable. (3)
Step 2 : Adjusting the kickstand

Unfold the kickstand and make sure that the adjustable section is loosened. Hold the bicycle securely and tilt it into a steady standing position. (1) If the bicycle is standing too straight or at an angle, there is a good chance that it will tip over. (2, 3)
Firmly attach the adjustable part of the kickstand, using the allen bolt or hex bolt.
With an adjustable double-leg kickstand, it’s important to make sure that either the front wheel or rear wheel lifts a few centimeters off the ground.
