The brand new Giro Insurgent™ Spherical is designed to provide the protection our top riders demand, from the Enduro World Series to Red Bull Rampage. Our engineers have maximized the intake points for cool, fresh air while optimizing the exhaust ports, all connected with deep channels. A lightweight, soft-feeling, and absorbent padding set includes a brow pad with a special flange to wick sweat away from your eyes. Two different cheek pads are included with each of the three sizes, ensuring a customizable fit, and are secured with a directional click system, making them easy to remove in case of a crash. Weighing in at 1,040 grams in size M/L, the Insurgent is 200 grams lighter than the Disciple™ Mips, despite the addition of features such as the advanced protective performance of Spherical Technology™. The Insurgent Spherical utilizes two foam layers that work like a ball joint to redirect impact energy during a crash. One layer is EPS, which is highly effective against high-speed crashes. The other is a lower-density EPP foam with rebound properties to protect against low-speed falls, such as rolling in the dirt. Additional features include a patented Flex Gasket along the bottom edge of the helmet, designed to reduce the role a helmet can play in certain collarbone fractures, tool-free visor bolts with an integrated Allen key holder for easy removal, and a central visor bolt hole, or B-hole, which also serves as the ideal mount for POV action cameras. The new Giro Insurgent Spherical truly offers optimized protection for riders redefining the possibilities of progressive mountain biking.
