The brand new Giro Insurgent™ Spherical is designed to provide the protection that our top riders demand, from the Enduro World Series to Red Bull Rampage. Our engineers have maximized the intake points for cool, fresh air while optimizing the exhaust ports, all connected with deep channels. A lightweight, soft-feeling, and absorbing padding set includes a brow pad with a special flange to keep sweat out of your eyes. Two different cheek pads are included with each of the three sizes, ensuring a customizable fit, and are secured with a directional click system, making them easy to remove in the event of a crash. Weighing in at 1,040 grams in size M/L, the Insurgent is 200 grams lighter than the Disciple™ Mips, despite the addition of features such as the advanced protective performance of Spherical Technology™. The Insurgent Spherical utilizes two foam layers that work as a ball joint to redirect impact energy during a crash. One layer is EPS, which is highly effective against high-speed crashes. The other is a lower-density EPP foam with rebound properties to protect against low-speed falls, such as rolling in the dirt. Additional features include a patented Flex Gasket along the bottom edge of the helmet, designed to reduce the role a helmet can play in certain collarbone fractures, tool-free visor screws with an integrated Allen key holder for easy removal, and a central visor screw hole, or B-hole, that also serves as the ideal mount for POV action cameras.
