WHAT IS MIPS?
MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a system of sliding surfaces within the helmet. It is designed to rotate within the helmet and to slow down or reduce the amount of energy transferred to and from the head. This reduces the risk of head injuries caused by rotational forces.

WHY IS MIPS IMPORTANT?
When the head rotates quickly and suddenly comes to a stop, the brain tissue may be subjected to significant stress. The stretching of brain tissue caused by this movement can lead to various types of brain damage. MIPS is developed to reduce the rotational acceleration of an impact/fall.

HOW DOES MIPS WORK?
MIPS utilizes a system of sliding surfaces that mimic the brain's protective system within the helmet. This is a polycarbonate outer shell, resistant to breaks and scratches, pressed under high pressure and heat onto a HI-EPS body. It is UV-stable and antistatic.

HI-EPS:
The inner shell is made of High Expanded Polystyrene, consisting of many microscopic air chambers that absorb impact during a fall, for example.

EDGE PROTECT:
Sharp edges are eliminated during the manufacturing process to protect your hands when handling the helmet and to safeguard your neck and shoulders in the event of a fall.

ERGOMATIC:
