5-degree engagement angle. After the Ratchet DEG technology was introduced with the DT 240 models, the DT 350 hubs now also utilize the quick-engaging freewheel system, but with 72 instead of 90 teeth, resulting in a no less sharp engagement angle of 5°. The concept is specifically aimed at mountain bikers and promises not only a more direct response on the trail but also a quicker power transfer and an even more distinctive sound.

Ratchet DEG | Every Ratchet The system has its own unique features but offers all three legendary DT Swiss reliability. This reliability is due to the simultaneously engaging teeth, which lead to significantly lower point loads. The special feature of the patented Ratchet DEG freewheel system has a considerably smaller engagement angle, improving responsiveness without compromising load capacity and durability.

Larger ratchets | The DT 350 hubs with Ratchet DEG system feature 2 enlarged ratchet wheels, which ensure a shorter idle run. This results in more direct acceleration, for example, when exiting corners, and the ability to adjust the pedal position more quickly, such as when overcoming obstacles on technical uphill passages. At the same time, the two steel ratchet wheels ensure reliable power transfer, both over a large contact surface and over a long period.

Larger bearings | Compared to the DT 240 hubs with Ratchet DEG system, the DT 350 models use larger bearings. Due to the increased space requirements, the bearings have been moved to the inside of the hub. To maintain compatibility with previous Ratchet DEG freewheel bodies, a correspondingly larger spacer compensates for the greater distance between the housing and the freewheel bearing. Additionally, the innovative design allows for bearing replacement without special tools, as the screw ring does not need to be removed.
