In this set, Elite combines an advanced version of the Elite Direto XR Direct Drive home trainer with the ZWIFT Cog + Click. This system offers you 24 virtual gears in the ZWIFT training software and is compatible with 8 to 12 gears – you no longer need an extra cassette!

This is especially practical if you have several bikes with different groupsets that you want to use for indoor training with ZWIFT - without changing the cassette. Instead, the Direto XR is equipped with the ZWIFT Cog, which has exactly one physical gear. With the accompanying wireless ZWIFT Click control, you can then shift 24 virtual gears in ZWIFT. The pedal resistance of the trainer changes with each Click, simulating a shift - even under full load. To get started right away, a voucher for a two-month ZWIFT subscription is included.

If you want to use a different training software, you can simply install a compatible 9-12-speed cassette on the Direto XR and then shift in a completely analog and physical way with the shift levers of your derailleur.

In addition, the number of functions of the Direto XR has been significantly expanded compared to its predecessor. For example, the Smart Trainer can also be connected to SHIMANO's electronic Di2 road bike groupsets. By pressing the buttons on the control levers, you can, for example, control the resistance in stand-alone mode. Speaking of stand-alone - the Smart Trainer now has two: You can use it with a mains power supply and a preset slope simulation, but without a connection to training software such as Zwift. Or you can use the roller trainer without a power supply at all and with a preset pedaling resistance. This allows you to flexibly carry out your training or warm-up program for a competition in different locations and regardless of the external conditions.

Of course, you also get all the other familiar benefits of the Direto XR home trainer: The top features are the OTS power meter, which is accurate to 1.5%, the silent direct drive, the slope simulation up to 24% and a pedal resistance of up to 2300 watts. This allows you to complete every training session, no matter how tough, and to accurately monitor your training and document your progress. Ambitious amateur cyclists will also be pleased about the improved ERG mode compared to its predecessor, which now allows even more precise training in the previously defined watt range. The Easy Start function also makes it easier to start in this mode if you want to take a short break at a high wattage. As soon as the flywheel stops, the trainer reduces the resistance and increases it again to the set value after a few revolutions of the pedals. In addition, there are the limitless interactive training options that you have thanks to the multi-signal protocol with ANT+ FE-C and Bluetooth Smart in combination with almost all common apps on the market.

VIRTUAL GEARS
You can shift up and down 24 virtual gears with the ZWIFT Cog + Click Upgrade Kit and the Direto XR home trainer in ZWIFT. And it doesn't matter whether your bike has an 8-, 9-, 10-, 11- or 12-speed cassette. The ZWIFT Cog is attached to the freewheel body of your home trainer instead of a cassette and has exactly one sprocket over which the chain of your bike runs. Gears are changed virtually and wirelessly with the Zwift Click control by pressing the plus or minus button. You can attach it to any point on the handlebars or aerobar with the supplied rubber rings.
Virtual shifting with the ZWIFT Cog + Click Upgrade Kit is currently only available for the ZWIFT training software. If you want to use a different training software, you can simply install a compatible 9-12-speed cassette on the Direto XR and then shift through the gears in a completely analog and physical way.

WIDE COMPATIBILITY
If you want to use the Direto XR without the ZWIFT Cog + Click Upgrade Kit, this is also possible: The home trainer offers maximum compatibility with both road bikes and mountain bikes. Thanks to the improved housing geometry, you can also use the trainer with long-cage rear derailleurs. A SHIMANO HG freehub body is factory-fitted. Campagnolo cassettes, SRAM XD/XDR cassettes and SHIMANO Micro Spline cassettes can also be mounted via the optional freehub body (see compatible accessories in the ROSE range below).

WITH POWER METER
The accuracy of the Direto XR data during training is made possible by the OTS (Optical Torque Sensor). This sensor is a built-in power meter that ensures that your wattage is measured with an accuracy of +/- 1.5%.

INTERACTIVE IN ALL LEVELS
The Direto XR belongs to the new generation of interactive home trainers ANT+ FE-C & Bluetooth that can be combined with apps, software, computers and other devices (smartphone and tablet) with IOS, Android, OSX and Windows. In a few simple steps, training distances or programs can be created and then you can start immediately. The exercise bike automatically changes the resistance and thus delivers an optimal training. The Direto XR can be controlled with Elite's My E-Training software or other indoor cycling platforms, including: Zwift, TrainerRoad, The Sufferfest, Bikevo, Kinomap and many others.

RECORD PERFORMANCE FASTER
In the Direto XR, the frequency for measuring power, speed and cadence is recorded at 2 Hz, i.e. read out 10 times per second. And not only when using wired TCP-IP devices such as the Elite Gateway, but also via the Bluetooth protocol. This means that changes in your performance are communicated particularly quickly to compatible apps, which can give you a decisive advantage, especially in competition situations.

BRIDGE FUNCTION AND VIRTUAL HEART RATE MONITOR
The Bridge function also makes it possible to send the signal from separate heart rate or cadence meters to the exercise bike, from where it is included in the outgoing Bluetooth FTMS signal. This feature is especially useful for certain platforms (such as Apple TV) that only support two simultaneous Bluetooth Smart connections.
The Direto XR with Cog and Click can also create a virtual heart rate monitor if you are using programs that are not compatible with the protocol of your heart rate strap (e.g. if you have an ANT+ heart rate strap but are using a program or device that only supports Bluetooth). The exercise bike converts the data sent by your ANT+ heart rate monitor into Bluetooth and sends it to the app or device you are using.

ERG EASY START & POWER SMOOTHING
The Easy Start function in ERG training mode makes it easier to get started if you had to pause for a while at a high wattage. As soon as the flywheel stops, the trainer reduces the resistance and increases it again after a few revolutions of the pedals. With an additional Power Smoothing function, which can be set in the My E-Training app, you can ‘smooth’ the watt values ??in four steps, so that they are displayed more evenly.

DETAILED PEDAL ANALYSIS
With detailed pedaling analysis, the Direto XR can analyze differences in the generated power between the right and left leg, recognize imbalances and help you work on them in a targeted manner. SHIMANO Di2 COMPATIBLE
If you have a bike with a SHIMANO Dura-Ace Di2 R9200 or Ultegra Di2 R8100 12-speed groupset, you can connect it to the home trainer using the My E-Training app. If you use a SHIMANO Dura-Ace Di2 R9100 or Ultegra Di2 R8000 11-speed groupset, you will need a separately available wireless signal transmission unit (SHIMANO EW-WU101 or EW-WU111) to connect. By pressing the buttons on the control levers, you can then adjust the pedal resistance of the exercise bike in stand-alone mode (with mains power) or pause for 60 seconds when training with an indoor cycling app.

STAND-ALONE MODE
Another exclusive feature of the Direto XR with Cog and Click compared to its predecessors is the possibility to use the exercise bike via two stand-alone operating modes, so you can train anywhere, even without being connected to any software or power supply. If the exercise bike is powered but not connected to training software such as ZWIFT, you can preset an incline of up to +24% via the My E-Training app. The exercise bike retains this value even when disconnected from the app. If there is no connection to the app or if there is no power available, you can use the My E-Training app to adjust the resistance of the brake mechanism for the training by setting a resistance value from 1 to 16 levels.
