Panasonic was founded in Osaka, Japan by Konosuke Matsushita in 1918 and grew from a company with just 3 employees into a multinational with over 600 locations and 306,000 employees worldwide.
Matsushita first invented the two-socket light bulb in 1918.
His invention was so popular that in 1922 he had to open another plant and new offices to house his expanding company.
This was the start of what was to become one of the largest electronics companies in the world.
