Seeing someone else transport their dog with the bicycle trailer meant for his children, led to the concept of a bicycle trailer designed especially for dogs. 
After doing some internet research, this devoted dog owner contacted a factory specializing in the production of bicycle trailers about creating a prototype. 

This prototype generated a great deal of positive responses and became a commercial product that was first marketed in the Netherlands, where the bicycle industry was especially likely to accept new, innovative ideas.
