Halfway through the 1950s Shimano expanded its range with a derailleur and a 3 speed hub.

Starting in the early 80s, the introduction of the mountain bike and the company’s leading role in its evolution led to rapid growth for Shimano Inc.
Then Shimano turned the road bike market upside down in 1984 with the introduction of indexed shifting (SIS), and again in 1990 with integrated braking and shifting (STI).

Shimano Benelux is the official distributor of Shimano bicycle parts and accessories for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
