Continental introduces a new top model racing tire, the Grand Prix 5000.
This is the successor to the Grand Prix 4000 S II.
That is not an easy task, because this has been the best-selling racing tire for years and has also been the best in all tests for years.
The goal in developing the new tire was to achieve an improvement in rolling resistance, durability, speed and better puncture protection.

Completed with a finer woven Vectran breaker and a new elastomer layer.
This Active Comfort Technology ensures a comfortable ride.
The Black Chili Compound is used for the tread.
The shoulder of the strap has a subtle aerodynamic pattern.
This pattern features an updated technology called Lazer Grip Texturing.

Which tire fits which rim?

The so-called ETRTO size (European Tire and Rim Technical Organisation) consists of two numbers:
the first is the width of the tire in millimeters and the second is the diameter of the tire in millimeters.
City bikes usually have tire size 37-622:
a 37 mm width and a 622 mm diameter.
The tire width must match the rim width.
The following chart shows possible combinations of tire widths and rim widths according to ETRTO.
