SHIMANO XT cassette CS-M8000 11-speed | 11-42 teeth
The new XT 11-speed cassette impresses with excellent shifting performance, low weight and high wear resistance.
Due to a fine gradation optimized for 1x11, 2x11 and 3x11 drives, the gear changes are extremely precise and with short shift pauses.
An intelligent material mix of aluminum and steel increases the service life, but at the same time reduces the weight of the cassette.
For example, the main body (spider), the lock ring and the largest sprocket are made of aluminum to save weight. The remaining sprockets, on the other hand, are made of steel, which not only reduces wear but also generates more rigidity so that all the power can be converted into propulsion.
The cassette with the wide 11-42 tooth gradation is specially designed for 1x11 and 2x11 circuits.

The first Shimano product was the bicycle freewheel, which also became the first product by Shimano to be exported in 1931.
Halfway through the 1950s Shimano expanded its range with a derailleur and a 3 speed hub.
In 1960 cold forging technology was introduced, quickly becoming a vital part of the production process and the main reason behind the premium quality of Shimano's bicycle parts.
Export figures grew exponentially. In 1965 and 1972 Shimano America and Shimano Europe were founded, and the first factories were opened in Singapore.
In 1973 the first complete Dura-Ace group came into being and Shimano Inc. became a publicly listed company.
Starting in the early 80s, the introduction of the mountain bike and the company’s leading role in its evolution led to rapid growth for Shimano Inc.
Then Shimano turned the road bike market upside down in 1984 with the introduction of indexed shifting (SIS), and again in 1990 with integrated braking and shifting (STI).
