Shimano XT MT800 Brake Disc Ø140mm Ice-Tech - Silver
- EAN 4550170442255
- Brand: Shimano
- Product Model: 729791
With the Ice-Tech cooling technology, the RT-MT800 brake disc ensures a constant braking performance even on longer runs.
The brake disc is characterized by a three-layer sandwich construction.
The stainless steel flanks with an aluminum core provide significantly improved heat dissipation.
As a result, the temperature can be lowered by around 100 °C.
In addition, the FREEZA aluminum cooling fins reduce the system temperature by an additional 50 °C due to their increased surface area.
Due to the higher heat dissipation smaller brake discs can be mounted as usual.
In addition, the life of the brake pad is significantly extended.
Shimano typically the discs for the Center-Lock are mount appropriate that allows quick and simple installation, ensures stability and ensures a clean and compact look.
A lighter aluminum carrier saves a few grams compared to the previous version.

The first Shimano product was the bicycle freewheel, which also became the first product by Shimano to be exported in 1931.
Halfway through the 1950s Shimano expanded its range with a derailleur and a 3 speed hub.
In 1960 cold forging technology was introduced, quickly becoming a vital part of the production process and the main reason behind the premium quality of Shimano's bicycle parts.
Export figures grew exponentially. In 1965 and 1972 Shimano America and Shimano Europe were founded, and the first factories were opened in Singapore.
In 1973 the first complete Dura-Ace group came into being and Shimano Inc. became a publicly listed company.
Starting in the early 80s, the introduction of the mountain bike and the company’s leading role in its evolution led to rapid growth for Shimano Inc.
Then Shimano turned the road bike market upside down in 1984 with the introduction of indexed shifting (SIS), and again in 1990 with integrated braking and shifting (STI).
