In developing these powerful 2-piston brakes, SHIMANO engineers went beyond cosmetic design adjustments, directly adapting the entire brake lever to the design and technology of the XTR.

The completely redesigned sensor unit with I-SPEC EV clamp supports the end of the reservoir directly on the handlebar. The additional support in the direction in which you pull the lever increases stiffness and stability during intense braking maneuvers, providing enhanced brake feel and control on the trail. Additionally, a differently designed pivot point compared to its predecessor allows for a more natural finger movement.
The grip width can be easily adjusted with an integrated adjustment wheel.
The hydraulic system is filled with SHIMANO LOW VISCOSITY mineral oil, which has a significantly lower viscosity than standard SHIMANO mineral oil. This ensures faster and more precise transmission of brake pressure and consistent braking behavior in various conditions and temperatures.

The J-Kit comes pre-filled, and thanks to the pre-assembled olive, the cables can be easily shortened and even routed through the frame. Therefore, additional bleeding is usually unnecessary.
