Kool-Stop International Inc. was started back in 1978, in Oregon USA. 
While making friction components for industrial applications, owner Richard Everett began supplying a few compounds to the bicycle industry. 
After creating the first bicycle brake pad that had an internal frame and an air cooled heat sink, the small garage-based company started to build a name for itself. 

Kool-Stop Europe, the European office, is based in the Netherlands and carries a large stock of all brake pad and disc brake pad models.
Stock is flown in every week and distributors receive their orders within 2 to 4 days after placing them.

A wide range of Kool-Stop brake pads is shown annually at various bicycle shows all over the world,
including EuroBike (Friedrichshafen, BRD), Cycle Show (London, UK) and InterBike (Las Vegas, USA).
