Kool Stop D635A organic disc brake pads.

These pads are made of organic materials and bound with synthetic resin.
In order to improve the braking performance and to reduce the abrasion of the coating contains small amounts of metal particles.
Nevertheless, the pads are largely organic, one might say, they are semi-metallic.
This mixture results in optimum dry and wet braking performance and also holds the glass wear low.
For further weight reduction Aluminium backing plates are used in the Type-A coverings used, but these have a higher thermal conductivity, which can lead for example on a fast descent to premature fading of the brakes under extreme loads.
