The Kool-Stop disc brake pads are made from organic materials and bonded with synthetic resin. To improve braking properties, the pad contains small amounts of metal particles. Nevertheless, the coverings are mostly organic, you could also say they are semi-metallic. The disc brake pads are very gentle on the rotor (Rotor Friendly) and can provide high braking performance for a lifetime.

The disc brake pads with aluminum holders use the same organic coating. But they only weigh about 10g per pair.
