So, what type of assistance is right for you? Some electric bicycle motors are more powerful than others, some are less powerful. The motor's capacity is indicated by the number of Nm (Newton-meters).
Powerful motors in particular are placed in the middle or rear of the bike, because having a powerful motor in the front wheel can cause instability and increase the risk of skidding.
If you enjoy taking many rides on terrain with lots of peaks and valleys, then a powerful e-bike motor is recommended - but as mentioned, keep the location of the motor in mind.
Another factor that may influence your decision is whether you prefer your motor to be silent.
A so-called direct-drive motor (a motor without mechanical transmission) is extremely silent, while a motor with transmission may be somewhat louder.
