In fact, the Camelbak concept came from a cyclist - Michael Eidson, who participated in the Hotter'N Hell 100 bike ride in Texas in 1989.

Eidson solved this problem by filling an infusion bag with water, safely storing it inside a sock and fastening its tube over his shoulder with a simple clothespin, enabling him to drink from the infusion bag during the ride.
This creative solution was the inspiration for the final Camelbak product.
