- PolyXBreaker
Thanks to new techniques, Continental has managed to improve the existing nylon breaker and replace it with the new one: PolyXBreaker.
This protection was first developed for car tires and is now being used for the first time in the new Grand Prix.
The base material consists of polyester and as a special procedure it is woven in such a way that the density becomes extremely high and can therefore be used as a light and very strong anti-puncture layer to protect against thorns and sharp objects.
PolyXBreaker is very reliable and does not lose any performance in rolling resistance or weight.

The secret recipe of a tire is the basis for why one tire rolls better than another, or why the grip of a tire is much better where another tire is already slipping.

Which tire fits which rim?

The so-called ETRTO size (European Tire and Rim Technical Organisation) consists of two numbers:
the first is the width of the tire in millimeters and the second is the diameter of the tire in millimeters.
City bikes usually have tire size 37-622:
a 37 mm width and a 622 mm diameter.
The tire width must match the rim width.
The following chart shows possible combinations of tire widths and rim widths according to ETRTO.
