Shimano RT-CL900 Brake Disc Centerlock 160mm Inox/Alu - Si

  • Brand: Shimano
  • Product Model: 848196
Out of Stock

With the aim of preventing heat-induced deformation, Shimano has reinforced the alloy carrier and optimized the arm shape in the RT-CL900 brake disc.
The result is not only a smoother, but also quieter braking experience.
With the help of the proven Ice-Technologies Freeza design, the disc at the level of the Dura Ace R9200 series provides first-class, consistently stable braking performance even on long and steep descents.

The key to outstanding braking performance is rapid heat dissipation, which is achieved with the help of a special coating and the so-called sandwich construction (stainless steel - aluminum - stainless steel).
This results in a significantly lower surface temperature, which in turn ensures less fading, a more consistent brake modulation as well as higher braking power, while at the same time less brake noise and a longer life of the brake pads.

- Reliable, smooth and quiet braking performance
- Excellent heat dissipation for first-class braking performance on long, steep descents
- Ice-Tech Freeza design
- Sandwich construction (stainless steel - aluminum - stainless steel)
- Special coating for even faster heat reduction
- Centerlock mount

The first Shimano product was the bicycle freewheel, which also became the first product by Shimano to be exported in 1931.
Halfway through the 1950s Shimano expanded its range with a derailleur and a 3 speed hub.
In 1960 cold forging technology was introduced, quickly becoming a vital part of the production process and the main reason behind the premium quality of Shimano's bicycle parts.

Export figures grew exponentially. In 1965 and 1972 Shimano America and Shimano Europe were founded, and the first factories were opened in Singapore.
In 1973 the first complete Dura-Ace group came into being and Shimano Inc. became a publicly listed company.

Starting in the early 80s, the introduction of the mountain bike and the company’s leading role in its evolution led to rapid growth for Shimano Inc.
Then Shimano turned the road bike market upside down in 1984 with the introduction of indexed shifting (SIS), and again in 1990 with integrated braking and shifting (STI).
