In fact, the Camelbak concept came from a cyclist - Michael Eidson, who participated in the Hotter'N Hell 100 bike ride in Texas in 1989.
You can't survive a race like that without water, yet there are few places along the way where you can replenish your water supply.
Eidson solved this problem by filling an infusion bag with water, safely storing it inside a sock and fastening its tube over his shoulder with a simple clothespin, enabling him to drink from the infusion bag during the ride.
