Het belangrijkste bestanddeel van Vredestein binnenbanden is butyl, een synthetisch rubber met een zeer lage gasdoorlaatbaarheid.
Hierdoor blijft de binnenband langer op de gewenste druk.
Vredestein binnenbanden zijn autoclaafbinnenbanden geproduceerd volgens het Unitube systeem, dit betekent dat ze geschikt zijn voor meerdere maten buitenband.
Autoclaaf binnenbanden zijn eenvoudig te monteren door een dun laagje talkpoeder aan de buitenzijde van de binnenband.

Welke fietsband past op welke velg?

De zogenaamde ETRTO-maat. Deze bestaat uit 2 getallen.
Het eerste getal geeft de breedte van de band in millimeters aan.
Het tweede getal geeft de diameter van de buitenband aan.
Stadsfietsen hebben bijvoorbeeld vaak de bandmaat 37-622.
De band is dan 37 mm breed en de fietsband heeft een diameter van 622mm.
De maat 622mm is dus bindend voor de maat band die op uw fiets past.
De breedte maat (37mm) is niet bindend.
Er kan ook een smallere fietsband (bijvoorbeeld 32-622) of bredere fietsband (bijvoorbeeld 40-622) op uw fiets.
