Een Schwalbe fietsbinnenband bestaat gewoonlijk uit butyl.
Butyl is een zeer elastisch en tegelijkertijd luchtdicht synthetisch caoutchouc.
Door de hoge elasticiteit is de Schwalbe binnenband geschikt om een grote verscheidenheid aan bandmaten af te dekken.

Schwalbe binnenband 22 breed hollands ventiel (DV8B), 22x1.75-40/54-457, blitz ventiel 40mm, DV8B, 10400011#Een Schwalbe binnenband houdt de luchtdruk beduidend langer vast.
De kwaliteit van de bestanddelen en de puurheid van het rubbermengsel zijn onderscheidend voor de kwaliteit van de binnenband.
Alle binnenbanden worden voor het vulkaniseren in een mal gelegd en opgepompt.
Alleen deze procedure waarborgt een gelijkmatige wandsterkte en een langdurige luchtdichtheid.
De downhill versie is extreem robuust.
Voor de inzet bij de extra ruige downhill.
Een versterkte ventielvoet beschermt tegen de gevreesde ventielafscheuring.

Welke fietsband past op welke velg?

De zogenaamde ETRTO-maat bestaat uit 2 getallen.
Het eerste getal geeft de breedte van de band in millimeters aan.
Het tweede getal geeft de diameter van de buitenband aan.
Stadsfietsen hebben bijvoorbeeld vaak de bandmaat 37-622.
De band is dan 37 mm breed en de fietsband heeft een diameter van 622mm.
De maat 622mm is dus bindend voor de maat band die op uw fiets past.
De breedte maat (37mm) is niet bindend.
Er kan ook een smallere fietsband (bijvoorbeeld 32-622) of bredere fietsband (bijvoorbeeld 40-622) op uw fiets.
