De band met signature van de Australische downhillprof Troy Brosnan luistert naar de naam Maxxis Dissector.
Troy wilde een eenhoorn van een band scheppen.
Een mountainbikeband die zeer snel rolt, nauwkeurig door bochten raast en indien gewenst ook goed vertraagt.
Als uitgangspunt nam hij het profiel van Rekon, Minion DHF en HighRoller II wat hij tijdens het world cup seizoen 2018 in samenwerking met MAXXIS verder ontwikkelde.
In de iets lichtere EXO TR versie is de Maxxis Dissector geen pure downhillband, maar eerder geschikt voor all mountain, trail, enduro en freeride.

Welke fietsband past op welke velg?

De zogenaamde ETRTO-maat. Deze bestaat uit 2 getallen.
Het eerste getal geeft de breedte van de band in millimeters aan.
Het tweede getal geeft de diameter van de buitenband aan.
Stadsfietsen hebben bijvoorbeeld vaak de bandmaat 37-622.
De band is dan 37 mm breed en de fietsband heeft een diameter van 622mm.
De maat 622mm is dus bindend voor de maat band die op uw fiets past.
De breedte maat (37mm) is niet bindend.
Er kan ook een smallere fietsband (bijvoorbeeld 32-622) of bredere fietsband (bijvoorbeeld 40-622) op uw fiets.
